3 🔑 To Changing Your Mindset
(1) Soundtracks
Jon Acuff wrote the book Soundtracks, and for me it’s the best book of I’ve ever read. Not because of how it was put together, the cover design, or the Seinfeld references (even though those are all awesome). Because of its deep impact on me and my mindset. In his book Soundtracks Jon shows readers how to change over thinking from a super problem to a super power. We constantly play broken soundtracks in our mind and wonder why we don’t enjoy life, we aren’t positive people, or some seem stuck. Flipping these negative Soundtracks to positive ones makes all the difference in changing your mindset.
(2) Absorb Positivity
Surround yourself with positivity. If you’re like me, your tendency is to be negative and to be around negative people. If you’re like me, you also tend to have more negative thoughts than positive thoughts. Be intentional with positivity. Put yourself around positive people. Listen to positive things. Read positive things.
(3) Abstain From Negativity
One of my personal values (healthy soundtracks) is “See The Good”. This pushes to see the good in situations where negativity may be more prevalent. I don’t have to go looking for negative things - they always find me. I’ve got to work at seeing the positive. So I try not to go there. You don’t need to go there either. If you want to change your mindset you must change what you dwell on, and for me that always involves negativity.
